Post Art Show Update (Dirty Little Drawings)

So I've realized I've been updating all over social media but I haven't updated here on the home page. Picking up where I last left off at the end of March, the Dirty Little Drawings show was quite a success! Over 50 artists participated so you can imagine the turnout of viewers and supporters. There's so many highlights from that weekend but to name a few, I was able to hang out with fellow artist and fashion illustration legend, Robert W. Richards & Charles Leslie, one of the founders of the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay & Lesbian Art. I sold 10 of 12 pieces and made so many connections with other artists/models. It was quite the experience and my favorite show I've been in to date. Every year I do one they get bigger and better so stay tuned, there's more to come!

March News - Commissions/Art Show/Google Porn Nonsense

So a few things, both good & not so good, have happened since I've last posted here. Im a positive person so I'm going to lead with the positive. Here we go!

1. ANOTHER SATISFIED CUSTOMER

 My last post from Feb. shared a preview of a commission I was working on which I have since completed! My inner graphic designer surfaced when working on these and I love how clean, bright and streamlined they came out...so did my client! Larger separate versions on my TUMBLR. Speaking of, commission slots have re-opened, feel free to contact me now as production will pick back up sometime next month. Why the wait? See number 2!

2. NEW ART SHOW

I'll be in the "DIRTY LITTLE DRAWINGS" exhibition, hosted by the Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay & Lesbian Art. March 27-29. I've been working on lots of new drawings this month hence me having to hold off on commissions til next. I'll be posting previews throughout the month and an official invite on Monday! If you're in the NYC area, come by and say hello!

3. GOOGLE'S PORN POLICY FLIP-FLOP

As many of us know by now, Google further tightened their restrictions on adult content and then quickly changed their minds by the following week. (Update posted below)

"Dear Blogger User,

This week, you received an email telling you about some changes we were making to the Blogger Content Policy. In that email, we announced a change to Blogger's porn policy stating that blogs that distributed sexually explicit images or graphic nudity would be made private.

We've received lots of feedback about making a policy change that impacts longstanding blogs and the negative impact on individuals who post sexually explicit content to express their identities.

We appreciate the feedback. Instead of making this change, we will be maintaining our existing policies (http://www.blogger.com/content.g).

What this means for your blog:
Commercial porn will continue to be prohibited.
If you have pornographic or sexually explicit content on your blog, you must turn on the adult content setting (https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/86944?hl=en) so a warning will show.

If you don't have sexually explicit content on your blog and you're following the rest of the Blogger Content Policy (http://www.blogger.com/content.g), you don't need to make any changes to your blog."

I appreciate the reversal on such tight censorship but honestly all the back & forth combined with their history of deleting adult blogs randomly leaves me feeling uneasy about remaining here. For now I'll stay & continue to update but I'll be focusing more on my tumblr, instagram & twitter. You can follow all three from the top right hand corner. I'll also be creating a Facebook fan page so stay tuned for that as well. If anyone has any suggestions on other platforms to call home, drop me a line.

"HERO WORSHIP" Exhibition Recap!!!

Roughly 2 weeks ago I got to participate in my 4th (I had miscounted on an previous Instagram post) art exhibition with 7 other talents in the homo-erotic art world including Belasco, Patrick Fillion, Rob Clarke, & Anthony Gonzalez (DAMMIT get a website ANTHONY!!!!) to name a few. Opening night was such an amazing turnout, in fact it was so packed that we barely had time to take pictures! I'm pleased to say that I sold a considerable amount of work (goodbye Ramen noodles!) and humbled to be included in a show with work of artists I've looked up to & admired for years. I was able to meet lots of new interesting people as well as business contacts, one in which I am extremely excited about as I am now working on a sexy new project as a result but more on that later! A special thank you goes to the curator, fellow artist, & friend in the show JC Etheredge for putting this whole thing together in the first place. As I continue along this journey I am reminded to stay humble, work hard, and that theres nothing like being prepared at the right place & right time. Looking forward to the next!

I'll also be posting more of the work I exhibited this month but I am most excited to have expanded into the clothing arena!!! As you can see above I created a special tank top for the show which will be available online VERY SOON but still can be ordered now if you are interested in having one. Just send me an email!
